Bus Accident in Jammu and Kashmir: A bus carrying passengers from Uttar Pradesh's Hathras veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Jammu's Tanda area of ​​Akhnoor, killing 21 people and injuring over 60. The accident took place in the district's Kalidhar area, officials said. According to PTI, the bus had rolled down about 150 feet into the gorge.

"A bus carrying passengers from Uttar Pradesh's Hathras has met with an accident near Tanda in Jammu's Akhnoor. Rescue operations are underway," Jammu's district magistrate said on Twitter. The vehicle was carrying pilgrims to the Shiv Khori area.

President Draupadi Murmu expressed deep grief over the incident. "Received news of the loss of lives in a bus accident in Akhnoor near Jammu. Words cannot describe the loss. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured," she wrote on Twitter.

The injured have been admitted to Akhnoor Hospital and Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu. Medical Superintendent of Government Medical College Jammu, Narinder Singh said, "CSE Akhnoor has already received information about the deceased. They have told us that they will send around 20-25 patients, out of which 16 patients have already arrived. It was a tourist vehicle and these people (passengers) are not from Jammu, they are from outside."
