Monsoon arrived earlier than expected

The Meteorological Department, while giving information, said that Cyclone Remal, which passed through West Bengal and Bangladesh on Sunday, has pulled the monsoon towards the Bay of Bengal, which is believed to be a reason for the early arrival of monsoon in the Northeast. According to the data of the department, heavy rains have been occurring in Kerala for the last few days, as a result of which there has been more rain than normal in May.

According to IMD, the normal date of arrival of monsoon in the northeastern states (Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur and Assam) is June 5 and during this time conditions are being created for the advancement of southwest monsoon in some more parts of the Arabian Sea, Comorin, Maldives, rest of Lakshadweep, southwest and central Bay of Bengal, northeastern Bay of Bengal and some parts of the northeastern states. After this, heavy rains can be seen here.
